The larger pelagic fish, such as tuna and marlin, are what we?re looking to catch during this team game fishing trip. These fish inhabit the deeper water at the edge of the continental shelf, which starts at around 15 nautical miles, or 30km, off the coast of Sydney. These fish are likely to be feeding in areas where seabirds are active or where warm bodies of water with baitfish occur.
You will be travelling out into the wide waters onboard a twin-engine 16m ocean-going power catamaran with a cruising speed of 15 knots and a high degree of stability.
Our boat has enough space and equipment for 8 pairs to be fishing at anyone time. We provide all fishing gear and baits. Regulation sports fishing equipment is used, with 15kg to 37kg line strength, and the techniques will be bait and lure fishing.
Cast your line and wait for that bite!
Fighting a fish is an energetic and exciting affair! You will probably need to stand up and use a rod gimbal and harness if necessary. Our boat has excellent access all around so there will be no problem if you need to chase the fish around the boat!
If you want a break from fishing you may sit back onboard the boat and enjoy the fresh salty air and sparkling ocean views. Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits are supplied for morning tea. You may want to wander around the boat and take a look at the fish that other people in your team have caught.
During your team game fishing trip you might catch striped, black and blue marlin or yellowfin and striped tuna. During the summer months dolphin fish (mahi mahi) and wahoo may also be caught.
Please Note: Bag and size limits apply to tuna and we practice tag and release only for marlin.
