Richard Roxburgh (Hound of the Baskervilles, The Road from Coorain, Van Helsing, Mission Impossible II) heads up a stellar cast and crew on ABC TV's new drama, The Silence. Jan Chapman (producer) and Cate Shortland (director), the team behind last year's acclaimed Australian film Somersault, and Anthony Anderson (associate producer) have joined forces for this 2 x 1 hour drama.
Joining Roxburgh is Essie Davis (Girl with a Pearl Earring) and Emily Barclay, the young New Zealand actress who made her starring role in In My Father's Den. A tale of deceit, love and danger, The Silence is the story of a policeman (Richard Roxburgh) traumatised by a recent incident and is relegated to curating a police photographic exhibition. His obsession with the exhibition photos, which suggest connections between a series of murders, opens a Pandora's box with dangerous and irreversible results.
