Lived up to Expectations
The fifth installment in the film version of J K Rowling's Harry potter series had high expectations and in most ways, this movie did not disappoint. This is a movie that has been highly debated over at lunchtimes at my school for many reasons. One of them is the amount of storyline that has been left out. The makers have decided to focus more on Prof. Umbridge and the D.A. than other aspects of the book. There are a lot of good things in the book that didn't make it into the movie, however I understand that you have to fit the movie into a time frame. The things that they did leave in, however, were done extremely well. I absolutely LOVED Imelda Staunton as Umbridge. She acted out Umbridge exactly how I imagined her. She makes you just want to walk up and slap her or give her a good punch. The battle scene at the end was superb! The special effects were stunning and the scene was full of emotion and suspense. I love how when Bellatrix kills Sirius, there is an expression of regret that flashes on her face, but quickly passes. I think Helena Bonham Carter does a brilliant job of Bellatrix. This is a great film for movie goers and Harry potter fans, however the amount of story left out will disappoint the lovers of the book.
The actors - especially the adult actors - have outdone themselves once again and my congratualations goes out to them, director David Yates and the entire cast and crew.

Good movie, could have been better
The movie was great, but in comparison to the book it was terrible. The movie skimps on a lot of the parts that the book thoroughly describes, but it's expected with such a long story.
This is a must for any Harry Potter fan, and dstore has the cheapest price I've seen so far.

For better or worse
I first saw this film three days after it hit our cinemas in Australia, and I was shocked to be honest, utterly shocked. Not in a bad way, but neither was I shocked in a good way.
Although its by far the best film of the Harry Potter books done, I cant help but feel let down, once again, the movie has mislead those who are fans of the Harry Potter books.
Truthfully I will say that if I hadn't of read the book, the film would have been superb with brilliant acting coming from all the cast, and for once a fabulous director who I feel knows what he is doing, but because I have read the book, I feel let down by those little incorrect pieces of the movie because like all books its the smaller details that make it so good, and although I realize how difficult it is to capture that in film, I feel for the movie to be an absolute smash, it needed the details.
Don't get me wrong when I say it wasn't a smash, it was in my opinion so much better than the last four (especially the last one) but I still believe that the Harry Potter films could reach a higher level in their entertainment value by putting those extra details in it.

The 5th Installment of a Remarkable Series
When I saw this film at the cinemas, I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed. It was probably the most entertaining Harry Potter film to date, but I felt it wasn't completely true to the novel by JK Rowling, which made me feel a bit let down by the film. However, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. The acting is brilliant, as are new spellbinding characters, such as the evil Bellatrix Lestrange and Dolores Umbridge. These characters not only bring entertainment to the movie, but their potrayers did a wonderful job. Harry, Ron and Hermione are back and all grown up, with Harry sharing his first kiss with the beautiful Cho Chang. Harry is also taking more responsibility - creating a secret organisation called "Dumbledore's Army" to teach fellow students defensive spells when Professor Umbridge refuses to teach them in class. Luna Lovegood was also a wonderful, quirkly character. She stood out from the rest, with her signature radish earrings, dreamy high-pitched voice and long blonde hair. The film is the shortest of all the Harry Potter movies to date, but it is certainly interesting to watch. David Yates brings a whole new image to Harry Potter, with the film running more quickly and a different style to the other films. Nonetheless, the characters remain true to themselves, with even Neville branching out while Dumbledore's Army fights the Death Eaters. It is clear that dark and difficult times lie ahead for Harry, as he continues to get frequent nightmares, and is lured into he Ministry of Magic, where a tragic event occurs and leaves Harry reeling. There is much more humour in this film too, which makes it fun to watch. A wonderfully directed film which is simply brilliant and definitely the most dramatic of the epic series. I would recommend this to all HP fans, as well as people just wanting to watch something new or dramatic. A wonderful installment of the magical series, The Order of the Phoenix cannot be missed, whether you're a child, teenager, adult or an elderly.
